Crime Statistics

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation compiles, manages and publishes crime statistics for Cleveland and other counties in the state. Records released for 2017 reveal that the county experienced a total of 5,932 index crimes. Larceny accounted for most crimes with 3,919 incidents while felony assault was the most common crime with 318 incidents. Compared to the previous year, the total crime rate slid, dropping from 31.66 to 28.04. The county recorded 403 fewer larcenies and reports of arson dropped by almost half. Conversely, murder cases increased by 300%, with 9 homicides compared to 3 for the previous year.
